About the Role

BlueSteel Cybersecurity is a young, creative security compliance firm looking to work with a Cybersecurity Technology Writer who is skilled at writing policies for non-technical audiences while meeting security compliance objectives.

As a Cybersecurity Technical Writer, the individual will focus on the development and execution of policies, directives, standards, and procedures in support of security compliance. Having a complete understanding of NIST-800 series, CMMC, FedRamp, and ISO 27001 controls is a must, as this will serve as the foundation for the documentation and work needed to meet certification requirements.

Position Requirements:


  • Experience in conducting Requirements Gathering sessions, developing action plans, and generating new policy and compliance standards for enterprise consumption.


  • The ability to write clear and concise documents for technical, non-technical, and C-level audiences.


  • Knowledge of ISO 27001/27002, CMMC, NIST-800 series, and FedRamp control framework.


  • Develop security assessment activities within the CISO organization on a periodic basis.


  • 5+ years experience in information technology, compliance, legal, data protection/privacy, and/or information security.


  • Knowledge of risk analysis and information security.


  • Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements under NIST, ISO 27001/2, PCI, CIS CSC, RMM and other relevant legislation when appropriate for business.


  • Excellent grammar, editing, and writing skills with a strong attention to detail.


  • Experience writing executive level briefings, white papers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meeting minutes, and plans.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. In lieu of degree, two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
